Individual Transition Plan (ITP): How Do Children Prepare and Participate

Time:  October 2, 2010, Saturday 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Individual Transition Plan (ITP) is a long-term plan for your school-aged children.  It is not an IEP, but it is as important as IEP.  Its purpose is to assist students enter into adulthood successfully. No matter what functional level your child has, the day after his/her 18th birthday, he/she has the full right of an adult. Likewise, the school may arrange and have IEP with your son or daughter without your knowledge.   ITP meeting can be held when student is 14 years old. When the student is 16, by law he/she must have ITP.  The plan covers every aspect of the student' life  Long and short term determination .......

“How to Read, and Make Sense Out of IEP/IPP Goals and Objectives”

Speaker:  Dr. Joyce Tu, Center for Behavioral Sciences

Dr. Tu is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  She will tell us what goals should be included under each area in the IEP/IPP, how to apply these goals in our child's daily routines ....
