On Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 9:30 – 11:30 am, Ms. Mei Ye, trainer for the FAST (National Family Advocacy and Support Training) Project, will conduct a “National Focus Group On Family Support” seminar, which will involve gathering information from families of children with disabilities. The Focus Groups will discuss the following:
· Youth development
· Family support and leadership
· Career development and employment
· Connecting activities
· Education
This is an opportunity not to be missed. Come discuss with parents and share your experience by contributing your valuable comments. 11:30 am : CPAD will present a DVD documentary on Kate. It is 20 minutes long. “Autism is all the news today. But in 1985, it wasn’t the case. A mother tells her story, blending narrative with creation of her collage portraits. Options for the child narrow as adulthood approaches, but, like in a work of art, there are nexpected surprises.” Directed and produced by: Kathe Beltran 12:00 – 1:00 pm : lunch and parents network.
