CPAD Multicultural Event/Congresswoman Judy Chu’s 10th Annual Congressional Leadership Awards
CPAD and Fiesta Educativa had a fantastic Multicultural Event -- On Saturday, August 24th that celebrates the diversity of both of these organizations. Taking place at the East Los Angeles Community Service Center, patrons enjoyed lunch, a talent show, and raffles. Alex Phuong recited two of his previously published poems, which had the titles "Resisting Arrest" and "Avoiding Stagnation." Jonathan Nickels sang and played the ukulele. The CPAD Rainbow Dancers also performed their "Big Eyes" dance routine. The event included face painting and balloon art as well. There were even two people dressed as Mickey and Minnie Mouse! The event concluded with karaoke and dancing. This Multicultural Event really does celebrate different cultures! (More ...)

CPAD won an award for being the "Volunteer Organization of the Year" in 2019. Many CPAD members attended the event in order to celebrate the volunteerism that makes CPAD the loving and caring organization that it is. The host of this event was Emmy Award-winning actor James Reynolds, who is one of the current stars of Days of Our Lives. Many other altruistic and helpful people and organizations received recognition as well, including a non-profit called "Shoes That Fit."
