Promoting Purchase of Services (POS) Equity --Review of Proposals

Date: Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Background. Recent legislation added section 4519.5(h) to the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act of the Welfare and Institutes Code (WIC), allocating $11 million to the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS) to assist regional centers in implementing strategies to reduce POS disparities. Regional centers shall submit proposals to DDS requesting funding to address identified areas of disparity by September 8th, 2016.  Regional centers are required to consult with stakeholders prior to submitting proposals. The Public Forum scheduled by SG/PRC on August 23rd, 2016 is your opportunity to comment on proposed strategies, to suggest activities that may be effective in addressing the disparities, and to provide recommendations to be incorporated in the proposals.
