Topic: “Person Centered Thinking”

1000 S. Fremont Ave, Alhambra, CA 91802 On 9/13/06, CPAD/CPRC will hold a training “Person Centered Thinking”. Our guest speaker: Michael Smull, Director of the Applied Research and Evaluation Unit at the Developmental Disabilities Program on the University of Maryland’s school of Medicine in Baltimore. This unit provides an extensive array of support services to Maryland’s Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Michael is an active participant in DDA’s efforts to improve the State’s community service delivery system. He also is the consultant of Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center (ELARC).
In his coming September trip in Los Angeles, Michael specially come to meet with our parents and family members, he will talk about “Person Centered Thinking” focusing on “helping people get better lives, not just better plans”; applying the skills and tools to planning with families of young children; strategies on implementing an inclusive vision for the future.
