Words from CPAD President --

Looking Back .... Moving Forward:  Every Helping Hand Counts

In this New Year, I would like to first wish you all a Happy and Prosperous Year 2015.  CPAD had an exciting year 2014.  Besides the hard work and excitement of our fund raising activities for our Activity Center, we have launched several new activities for our members.  To name a few are the Saturday activities for the elementary school age children, the pilot Self-Advocacy group for young adults.  Trans-Pacific Art Exhibit with the Chinese American Museum and Hong Kong Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, and parent leadership legislative training. I want to take this opportunity share with you all the progress of our 2014 Activity Center Campaign.  We are excited that because of you and all the community supports, we have raised a total of $150,535 - reaching our 2014 goal of $150,000.  On behalf of our Board of Directors,  I want to take this chance to express our deepest appreciation for not only the many community organizations that have contributed and donated to our Activity Center project, but also to the many volunteers who have contributed their time and know-how to helping us this year's fund raising efforts for our Activity Center, such as the Kiwanis Club of Monterey Park, the California Institute of Cultural Performing Arts (CICPA), and the Alhambra Lions Club and many other community supporters.

Upon the notice to move out of our Alhambra church facility in November 2014, though we were able to gain the support of Asian Youth Center for CPAD to use their facility, we are more in need to have our Activity Center completed, so we can have our own home.  We urgently need your help to continue our quest to bring in $150,000 in year 2015 and another $150,000 in year 2016 for the completion of our Activity Center building. This is almost an impossible task and we need all your help.  We need your help! Your help can be either financial support, volunteering, and/or if you have linkages to businesses and corporations, you can help connect us to these resources.  Every little bit of contribution and help cumulates and moves us closer to bring a "Home" to our families, special needs children and youth.  Every Helping counts.

OUR FAMILIES NEED YOU!
